Autism Waiver Coordination Program
Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. provides services coordination and support to families who have children with autism through the Autism Waiver Coordination Program. Autism Waiver Service Coordination is intended to assist a participant in gaining access to various program services that have been approved in the waiver participant's plan of care, as well as coordinating with other agencies’ services received by the participant.
The Service Coordinator is a member of a multidisciplinary team that performs the initial assessment and development of each individual participant’s plan of care. In addition, the Service Coordinator: makes monthly contacts with all Autism Waiver program participants and their families, makes quarterly visits to each participant’s day program, and performs annual reassessments.
The Autism Waiver Program, operated under the auspices of the Maryland State Department of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, currently serves 18 clients in Carroll County.
