Supported Employment
Target Community & Educational Services, Inc.’s (Target, Inc.) Supported Employment Program provides comprehensive and individualized job training, placement, and on-going support for individuals with various disabilities, helping Marylanders with disabilities earn a competitive wage in the community while enriching the area workforce. The organization partners with local businesses to provide competitive, integrated work experiences. Target, Inc. also coordinates volunteer placement for clients that not only provides valuable training that improves their employability, but also provides a means for these individuals to contribute positively to the community in which they live. Target, Inc. maintains extensive case management files for each client, ensuring that individual vocational goals are met and may provide direct onsite client supervision if needed.
Target, Inc.’s clients work for a variety of local employers including traditional, entry-level positions with retail stores, child care centers, other private businesses, and government agencies. These employers report that Target, Inc.’s clients are more reliable when compared to many other workers, showing up on time, working hard, and receiving consistent supervision and support.
Supported Employment: Carroll County
Since 1987, Target, Inc. has assisted individuals with disabilities to find and maintain competitive employment in Carroll County, Maryland. Target, Inc. demonstrates vocational supports by acting as an advocate for each client, encouraging active participation in the job development process, and by providing hands-on job coaching. Supported Employment: Montgomery County
Target, Inc.’s Supported Employment Program in Montgomery County began in 1999 with only six clients. Today, the organization provides customized, long-term vocational support for over sixty clients with disabilities. This program includes services such as job placement, coaching, and on-going assistance.
